Stumbling

I am in search for a picture of Chris Pacana over the internet that I haven't shared yet here in his blogsite. Luckily, I stumbled upon this one. I just don't know when this photo/game took place. Obviously, this was a game between the Sta. Lucia Realtors and Barako Bulls.

I just hope to see him play big time soon.

He Played; But I Failed to Watch

Last Wednesday, Sta. Lucia Realtors (SLR) battled with the reigning All Filipino Cup Champions, Derby Ace Llamados. For me, this would be hitting two birds with one stone: seeing my favorites [Chris Pacana and Kerby Raymundo] in one game. However, at the back of my head, I am somewhat hearing thoughts from Coach Boyet Fernandez that he won't be utilizing Chris' skills. On top of that, I heard that Kerby won't be playing for he was still nursing a knee injury. Most likely, my stone won't hit any bird at all. With that in mind, I chose to run with my bestfriend at UP Diliman's Academic Oval. Only to find out a day after that Chris actually played, for 2 minutes. Short. But still seeing him play is noteworthy. Good thing I was able to download that game. I will be watching it and hopefully crop the part where he did play and post it here. Which quarter did he play?

Yesterday, while I was still on the hype of my new Personal Record of 01:14:56 in my 10K run [conquering Buendia Flyover twice], I forgot that SLR is battling against Talk N' Text (TNT). And it's already late when I realized that. I, once more, missed SLR game. But the most disappointing of that was, I again failed to see Chris play [this time for 6 minutes].

He played... but I failed to watch. *sigh*

Reminiscing...

I won't cover-up for the joy that I felt back when Purefoods TJ Giants [now Derby Ace Llamados] earned the All Filipino Cup Trophy. It is exactly the same feeling I had when the Barangay Ginebra Kings won the Fiesta Conference back in the Chris Alexander days. Championship victory is indeed the sweetest.

All this reminiscing is brought about by my search for new articles having "Chris Pacana" in it. I had found this interesting statement from Mico Halili:

"Chris Pacana, with no team at the start of the conference, and here he is a few moments away...." - Mico Halili after Pacana sinked 2 free throws that sealed game7, and the championship, for Ginebra!

It's Chris Pacana and Steve Thomas

I believe, for players, victory will become sweeter when you had become a part of it. I just miss how Chris contribute largely in the victory of his team. Hope to witness one soon.

Haven't Missed a Single Game Yet

After being bombarded by a number of runs in the previous months, I made it a point to pamper myself by providing time in watching PBA. So far, so good. I haven't missed a single game yet of Sta. Lucia Realtors (SLR). But most of the time, I had gone tired of watching it that I whole-heartedly allow my sister to switch the channel. Not because the game's already a sure win/loss; but because I'm pretty sure that Coach Boyet Fernandez would no longer tap Chris Pacana to at least be on the hardcourt for a minute or two. I am silently annoyed and disappointed.

But of course I still hoped that they would win over their opponent. For winning and having more games would definitely mean having greater chances that Chris would be needed to at least relieve the tired legs of Ryan Reyes or Bon Bon Custodio.

A part of my heart is still hoping that Chris would be given a chance to show off his skills, if not in SLR, then in any other team.

A Disappointing Loss

I almost missed the game of Sta. Lucia Realtors (SLR) and Barako Bull Coffee Masters. Good thing I had waken myself up just in time before the first quarter started.

I believe, last conference, it was the Barako Bulls who ended at the lowest spot; thus, being an underdog against a much competitive SLR. But on how the things transpired during the game, and on the surprises that I had seeing the new roster of both teams, SLR bowed in their first game against the Barako Bulls with a score of 97-93. They had rallied from as much as 10 points deficit.

This conference is a battle not only with the all Filipino line-up, but with a reinforcement of an import. SLR's Anthony Johnson did great in the game. He had several surprising dunks [not to mention Kelly William's own version]. But Sammy Monroe's debut game is just brilliant. He gained 39 points and 11 monster rebounds.

Well, yeah, it was disappointing that SLR loses against the underdogs. Probably, Joseph Yeo's loss is a big factor here. BonBon Custodio, although played great too is not someone that could replace Yeo, I think.

Atop that disappointment, I am disappointed too for I was not able to see Chris Pacana play. I know he had trained well, he even played great in their practice game against the Smart Gilas. I hope he'll be given another chance to show off what he got.
