Haven't Missed a Single Game Yet

After being bombarded by a number of runs in the previous months, I made it a point to pamper myself by providing time in watching PBA. So far, so good. I haven't missed a single game yet of Sta. Lucia Realtors (SLR). But most of the time, I had gone tired of watching it that I whole-heartedly allow my sister to switch the channel. Not because the game's already a sure win/loss; but because I'm pretty sure that Coach Boyet Fernandez would no longer tap Chris Pacana to at least be on the hardcourt for a minute or two. I am silently annoyed and disappointed.

But of course I still hoped that they would win over their opponent. For winning and having more games would definitely mean having greater chances that Chris would be needed to at least relieve the tired legs of Ryan Reyes or Bon Bon Custodio.

A part of my heart is still hoping that Chris would be given a chance to show off his skills, if not in SLR, then in any other team.

A Disappointing Loss

I almost missed the game of Sta. Lucia Realtors (SLR) and Barako Bull Coffee Masters. Good thing I had waken myself up just in time before the first quarter started.

I believe, last conference, it was the Barako Bulls who ended at the lowest spot; thus, being an underdog against a much competitive SLR. But on how the things transpired during the game, and on the surprises that I had seeing the new roster of both teams, SLR bowed in their first game against the Barako Bulls with a score of 97-93. They had rallied from as much as 10 points deficit.

This conference is a battle not only with the all Filipino line-up, but with a reinforcement of an import. SLR's Anthony Johnson did great in the game. He had several surprising dunks [not to mention Kelly William's own version]. But Sammy Monroe's debut game is just brilliant. He gained 39 points and 11 monster rebounds.

Well, yeah, it was disappointing that SLR loses against the underdogs. Probably, Joseph Yeo's loss is a big factor here. BonBon Custodio, although played great too is not someone that could replace Yeo, I think.

Atop that disappointment, I am disappointed too for I was not able to see Chris Pacana play. I know he had trained well, he even played great in their practice game against the Smart Gilas. I hope he'll be given another chance to show off what he got.

Smart Gilas vs Sta. Lucia practice game video 3/9/10

Source: Bleacher's Brew | Rick Olivares

A couple of vids taken from the practice game between Sta. Lucia and Smart Gilas Pilipinas. The Realtors were without their import yet who is supposed to arrive next Monday. The National Team won 95-83 behind the excellent game of Chris Tiu, Mark Barroca, Greg Slaughter, Dylan Ababou, and Japeth Aguilar. Jayvee Casio is out for two weeks because of an injury. For Sta. Lucia, Kelly Wiliams, Marlou Aquino, Chris Pacana, and Joseph Yeo played well. Some nifty moves by Marlou! Wooo! Oh, the vids... not what I just described. Excerpts from the game. Was busy chatting too. Hahaha!
