Exiting 35th Season Too Early

I was extremely shocked knowing that the Sta. Lucia Realtors (SLR) had exited the Philippine Basketball Association's (PBA) 35th Season this early; I mean, in the wildcard face off against the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters (RoS).

I admit that I was unable to watch the game for the nth time. I still have a Wedding and Debut Fair to attend to. I could count in my fingers the number of games that I had watched (including those of Purefoods'). I was that calm and confident that I would still be able to catch Chris Pacana's game in the quarter finals then. However, I was so wrong. I underestimate RoS. Probably because they (RoS) failed to win a game until they met up with the Alaska Aces (ranked #1 at that time, until now) in the first round of the eliminations.

But the game already ended, and I have to wait for the season to finish before I could get another look at Chris'. *sigh*

Just When I Could Finally Watch the Game...

Chris Pacana did not play. *sigh* I thought that he was sick or something. But it turns out that Coach just do not need him at that moment. And I hate it.

Sometimes I was thinking, he's better off to the lowest team in the league, given that his talents will be utilized at its optimum; rather than be a part of the strongest team in PBA, and just spend the 48 minutes of the game on the bench.

Slowly Improving

Chris on the Bench

I, for the nth time, missed to watch the game of Sta. Lucia Realtors (SLR) against Alaska Aces. I can't really remember how many times I have been able to watch any of the PBA games this season.

Last night, while on the cab, I heard that the driver was listening to Radyo PBA. And so I listened attentively and heard that it was already 4th Quarter, with a score of 75-79 in favor of Aces. I so thought, it was a close game. I am sorry that I had missed it. I was waiting for the commentator to mention Chris' name. But when he mentioned that it was Josh, I sit back and told myself that Chris was on the bench. Unfortunately for me, I had to alight the cab and failed to know who wins the game.

So, early this morning, I checked on PBA.ph to see who won. And unfortunately, it was Aces, giving them one foot closer to a semi-finals berth, and closing the doors to SLR on the other hand. At the back of my head, I am already thinking that maybe, just maybe, SLR fans might be throwing once more harsh and rude comments over Chris; cursing him that he is THE reason for SLR's loss. Gladly, SLR's official website isn't updated yet; and, PBA Online only got negative comments against the referees (which I agree 100%).

I browse over Chris' statistics and consoled myself that he had been Slowly Improving. I hope to see more of him in the succeeding games of SLR.

I Miss This

I know I haven't been posting something new here for a month now. But that doesn't mean that I had abandoned this website. It won't happen. I just had my Christmas vacation last December and that meant NO blogging for me. I wanted to rest my mind from the sponsored posts and everything. So to make up for the things that I missed, I had this post.

December 11, 2009 : SLR vs Coke (98 - 92)

News: Sta. Lucia tames Tigers Again

Statistics:

  • 6 minutes played
  • 1 rebound
  • 2 assists
I was not able to watch the game. I really don't know what transpired during the game. But one thing's for sure, Pacana haters strikes again. They just don't get enough of their hate comments that even though SLR wins the game, they still throw trash on Chris.

December 16, 2009 : SLR vs BGK (93 - 88)

News: Inspired Josh puts SLR to Lucky '7'

Statistics:
  • 15 minutes played
  • 4 points
  • 3 rebounds
  • 3 assists
Again, I was not able to watch this game. But I am glad that SLR wins again vs Chris' former team. It is the sweetest revenge.

December 23, 2009 : SLR vs TNT (112 - 117)

News: Reyes Conference High Not Enough

Cardona vs Omolon, Pacana, and (?)

Statistics:
  • 3 minutes played
  • 2 points
  • 2 rebounds
Hmmm, does that little minutes played by Pacana contributed to SLR's loss? If he had played a bigger number of minutes, he might be able to contribute more, and Reyes could have rested much better and longer.

December 24, 2009 : Chris' Birthday

Happy Birthday Chris! Well, belated happy birthday! All I wish for you is good health and a wonderful career. Can you be a part of my favorite team? *smile*

January 6, 2010 : SLR vs ROS (95 - 91)

News: K-Will's Scores Big as SLR Wins

Jireh vs Chris

Statistics:
  • 9 minutes played
  • 4 points
  • 4 rebounds
  • 1 assist
  • 2 steals
WOW! That's a pretty statistics. But, I am pretty sure too that his haters won't be able to see those contributions. Their eyes are blinded by Chris' flaws.

Anyhow, January 6 is something special because I received a present from Chris and his family. They were just so thoughtful that I am really speechless and overly grateful.

This Christmas card comes along with a Lucky Charm Bracelet customized for me using my birth date. I will posting about it at my personal blog. But the thought and feeling of being special to the family of Chris is really a wonderful feeling. Even if I haven't watched his games lately, I still remain as part of their lives. Thank you!

January 8, 2009 : BK vs SLR (79 - 83)

News: Unbelievable Yeo Does it Again

Statistics:
  • 19 minutes played
  • 2 points
  • 3 rebounds
  • 1 steal
Finally, I was able to watch the game. My last was October 31, 2009 (If I remember it right). As I watch, I am looking into what Chris had been contributing to the game and what the other SLR players are doing. And with my judgment, I believe that Pacana haters just shut their eyes and hopes on Chris. Okay, Josh is a speedy point guard, much like of a Paul Artadi. On the other hand, Chris is a slowly but surely type of PG. And I believe it is not his sole fault when someone cannot receive his assist or something. See his behind the back assist? Is it his fault that his teammate failed to deliver? And don't even tell me that Omolon's OFF night is also caused by him?

Basketball is a game played by a team. No ONE man can make or break it. I still remember back then when I am cheering for Johnny A's Alaska days. He scored 50 plus points, but they still lost the ballgame. It is just one of the many manifestations that basketball is a team effort.

Sometimes, I wish that Chris could go back to BGK, the time when JayJay is injured and the main PG was Artadi. It was when almost everyone appreciated him - most especially his witty defensive stops. Well, I just think that I MISS THIS - posting in this blog and providing Chris the support that he needed from his fans.
